“I feel like I’m home”

Of all the places, Lydia Wallace never thought she would end up back at Trinity Lutheran ChurchSchool.

“I really thought my previous Call would be my last school I would be at,” shared Lydia, who spent the past five years teaching at Great Lakes Lutheran School in Spencer, Iowa, before accepting Trinity’s Call in May. “It was God’s timing. He led me here.”

Just like He led Jason Specht and Lona Vesey, who serve as Trinity Lutheran teachers, back to the school where they attended as students.

“It shows Trinity has a lasting impact,” shared Lydia, who began attending Trinity in sixth grade before graduating in 2008. “It’s an important part of our mission. Sharing the faith and the love of Christ is what I first learned at Trinity.”

It’s a wonderful – and unique – opportunity to have three Trinity graduates serving on its staff.

“Before I left my previous school, a school board member shared, I would love to have that (alumni serving as staff members) here at our school. I understand why that would be one of your reasons for leaving,” shared Lydia.

Trinity Lutheran is excited and blessed – and so is Lydia, who is a Concordia Wisconsin graduate.

“I feel like I’m home,” shared Lydia, who will be teaching one of Trinity’s fourth-grade classes. “I’m really looking forward to getting to know my students and see how God is going to use me here at Trinity.”

Trinity celebrated Lydia’s return with her installation during Sunday’s 8 a.m. service.

Trinity also recognized its new and current staff members with a blessing during Sunday’s 8 a.m. service.

We are: Chosen. Growing. Proclaiming. Crowned.
