Director of Ministry Support
POSITION TITLE
Director of Ministry Support
Trinity Lutheran ChurchSchool – Davenport, Iowa
ABOUT THE ROLE
Trinity Lutheran Church & School is seeking a faithful and skilled Director of Ministry Support to provide leadership and oversight for all non-pastoral operational functions. This executive-level role reports to the Senior Pastor and ensures our ministry operates with excellence, supporting our mission through professional administration, financial stewardship, and strategic operations.
Guided by the biblical principle that “all things should be done decently and in order” (1 Corinthians 14:40), you will be the architect of the systems that allow our ministry to thrive.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Personnel & HR: Lead the employee lifecycle for non-called staff, including recruiting, onboarding, performance reviews, and maintaining the Personnel Handbook.
- Financial Oversight: Oversee church and school financial systems, develop the annual ministry budget, and conduct “Cost-to-Educate” analyses for tuition planning
- Operations & Infrastructure Oversight: Provide supervisory oversight of administrative, communications, technology, and facilities operations to ensure efficient, secure, and sustainable ministry support systems.
- NSLP Oversight: Manage financial administration, reporting, and compliance for the National School Lunch Program.
- Concordia Plans Compliance: Administer Concordia Plans benefits and ensure full compliance with payroll tax laws and employment regulations.
- Communications: Provide direction for internal and external messaging, ensuring all platforms are mission-aligned and Christ-centered.
QUALIFICARIONS
- Faith: A committed Christian; and a member of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR, or a related field of organizational leadership.
- Experience: Proven experience in personnel management, financial oversight, and operational leadership.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital management systems; excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Leadership: Ability to lead diverse teams, manage multiple high-priority projects, and maintain strict confidentiality.

Childcare associate
POSITION TITLE
After School or Summer Childcare Associate
ABOUT THE MINISTRY
Trinity Lutheran ChurchSchool has been in Davenport for 150+ years, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to the community. The Extended Care program cares for children after school and during the summer months when school is not in session.
- Supervise the classroom/meeting area.
- Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Create activities (crafts, games, projects, experiments, etc.) for students in compliance with the center’s curriculum.
- Monitor daily homework time (reading aloud, math facts, other assignments) for students in grades 1-5.
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and meet the requirements of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be actively involved in home congregation.
- Positive Christian role model
Wages follow the Trinity Lutheran Church and School salary schedule and are commensurate with childcare experience.
FLSA & EMPLOYMENT STATUS
During the school year, this position is a part-time position with late afternoon hours. Seasonal full-time employment may be considered during the summer months only. Employment is at-will, non-exempt.
