It’s a lie

It’s a lie. What’s a lie? That women are having trouble getting abortions after the Supreme Court’s decision to delegate the abortion issue to the states. Abortions have increased. Per an Associated Press article: The study estimates 99,000 abortions occurred each month in the first half of 2024, up from 81,000 monthly from April through December 2022 and 88,000 in

I have to get rebaptized?

“I have to get rebaptized? But I was already baptized.” “But that was a water baptism. It didn’t do anything. It’s only a symbol. So, you need to be baptized to join our church.” Lutherans who leave Lutheranism are not aware of this conversation or teaching. When joining a non-denominational church, they must get re-baptized. Why? Because the contemporary Evangelical

Golter’s Musings: Tithing or Tipping

Tithing or tipping. I never had heard it said this way before; it struck me. Growth in giving doesn’t come automatically at conversion. Every believer needs instruction on what is God-pleasing. I’ve noticed that restaurants suggest tipping percentages: 20 or 15 percent. What about your Lord? He doesn’t suggest tipping as an afterthought reflection. The bible talks about “first giving.”

GOLTER’S MUSINGS: Which is it?

Which is it? Is what? The manner or mode of Jesus’ blood given in the Supper. Individual cup OR Common cup. Let’s look at Scripture. Habits Preach Louder than Words

By Pastor Randall Golter What are you teaching your kids by your habits? I recall — and have confessed openly — that when I was a young lad, I couldn’t wait for church to get over. When I heard the church singing the song right after Holy Communion, I still remember saying to myself, “Yes, church is about over!” I

Golter’s Musings: The Long Game

The Long game. It’s so hard to see beyond our noses. I just preached on the fear-frozen disciples, terror seized by the contrary wind and waves (Mark 6: 45f.) Understandably, they went by what they saw and felt. Assessing the situation, they thought they were done for. Jesus’ stunning words, “Buck up! It is I. Stop being afraid!” amazing ring

Ponder with Me a “Random” Bullet

Elizabeth and I were out in Denver leaving the Park Meadows Mall this past Saturday, July 13, 2024, just after 5:00 MST. I get a text from my brother, “President Trump has been shot.” I thought, “No way.” But it was true. Over the days, I pondered as I listened and read various takes on the attempted assassination. I thought

No kids left alone

Solomon’s wisdom for parents is very practical. “The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother,” (Proverbs 29:15). Left alone are keys words here. The Hebrew means “set free, unrestrained, left to himself.” When I saw that I immediately thought of… Screen time. Cell phones. Alone in their rooms on computers. At
