Must-have gift

During her years of teaching, Andrea Hussong has received some interesting, but heart-felt, Christmas gifts from her students.

The most memorable came during her first year of teaching.

“I remember getting a bag, and inside the bag was a card and a stuffed Tigger that had a string, and every time you pulled the string the stuffed toy would sing Tigger’s song and hop around,” shared Mrs. Hussong, who teaches first grade at Trinity Lutheran.

While the student was adamant that the stuffed toy was the perfect present for Mrs. Hussong, our must-have gift was born in a manger on Christmas Day.

“When we are talking about Christmas, and you hear the students saying Jesus over all the other Christmas things, that’s so powerful,” shared Mrs. Hussong.

It’s addicting.

“When we hang around Jesus, through worship, Bible study and in the school, we begin acting like Him,” Pastor Golter shared. “He invites and pushes us to share.”

His highest priority is preaching the Gospel.

It’s our calling—to share the Good News through the Word and Sacrament.

Come home — to God’s house — and hear the story of Jesus’ birth during Trinity’s Christmas services on Dec. 24 at 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 pm., and at 9 a.m. on Christmas Day.

“In Christmas, we see God’s impulse to give,” Pastor Golter shared. “The gift – our Savior- changes us,” Pastor Golter shared. “The gift turns us inside out.”

We are: Chosen. Growing. Proclaiming. Crowned.
