Elementary Classroom teacher

POSITION SUMMARY
Trinity Lutheran School seeks an elementary school teacher, who is passionate about education, dedicated to the school’s mission, and eager to work collaboratively to provide Christ-centered education to students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To teach the Word of God and the required curriculum for the assigned grade.
- To cooperate with the Principal and all staff in establishing a Christian learning environment in the school.
- To work with students and their families to assist them in becoming responsible members of the Body of Christ.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education
- Professional Educators License from the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners or taking steps toward such licensure
- Be actively involved in home congregation
- Positive Christian role mode
BENEFITS & WAGES
Wages follow the Trinity Lutheran Church and School salary schedule and are commensurate with teaching experience. Full-time faculty receive a health care package, disability insurance, a pension, and paid vacation during the summer months.
FLSA & EMPLOYMENT STATUS
This position is a 12-month, full-time position. Employment is at-will for teachers who are not on the Lutheran Church-Missouri Roster.

Childcare associate
POSITION TITLE
After School or Summer Childcare Associate
ABOUT THE MINISTRY
Trinity Lutheran Church & School has been in Davenport for 150+ years, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ to the community. The Extended Care program cares for children after school and during the summer months when school is not in session.
- Supervise the classroom/meeting area.
- Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Create activities (crafts, games, projects, experiments, etc.) for students in compliance with the center’s curriculum.
- Monitor daily homework time (reading aloud, math facts, other assignments) for students in grades 1-5.
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and meet the requirements of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
- Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Be actively involved in home congregation.
- Positive Christian role model

FLSA & EMPLOYMENT STATUS
During the school year, this position is a part-time position with late afternoon hours. Seasonal full-time employment may be considered during the summer months only. Employment is at-will, non-exempt.

Head Cook
POSITION TITLE
Food Services Head Cook
ABOUT THE MINISTRY
Trinity Lutheran Church & School has been serving the Davenport community for over 150 years, sharing the love of Jesus Christ through its ministries and education.
- Manage daily food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Collaborate with the Food Services Director on meal planning and ordering
- Maintain safe, clean kitchen conditions and follow food safety regulations (HACCP/local)
- Supervise assistant cooks and ensure meals meet quality standards
- Foster a respectful, supportive cafeteria environment for students and staff
- High school diploma required; culinary training or certification preferred
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in food preparation or kitchen management (school or institutional setting preferred)
- Be actively involved in home congregation
- Positive Christian role model; LCMS church membership preferred
- Wages are based on Trinity Lutheran Church and School’s salary schedule and are commensurate with experience.
- Benefits for part-time employees include disability insurance and eligibility for pension contributions through our retirement plan.
- Schedule: 10-month during the school year, approximately 25-30 hours per week
- Employment Status: At-will, in accordance with Trinity Lutheran Church and School employment policies

Assistant Cook
POSITION TITLE
Food Service Assistant Cook
ABOUT THE MINISTRY
Trinity Lutheran Church & School has been serving the Davenport community for over 150 years, sharing the love of Jesus Christ through its ministries and education.
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and food service areas in compliance with HACCP standards.
- Assist with kitchen setup, inventory, and cleaning before the school year begins.
- Receive and store food and supplies.
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and portion standards.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and faculty to maintain a supportive cafeteria environment.
- High school diploma required
- Previous experience in food service or commercial kitchens preferred
- ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain
- Positive Christian role model; LCMS church membership preferred
Wages are based on Trinity Lutheran Church and School’s salary schedule and are commensurate with experience. Part-time employees receive disability insurance and are eligible for pension contributions.
